Three Americans' lives become intertwined as they work to shape a livable future confronting coal's death rattle. Ted, JC, and Julia see their beloved wild places being existentially threatened by coal mining. Their individual struggles to create a future for future generations and animals find them connected in ways they could have never imagined. Bound together by their love for our planet, they must make choices that will change their lives forever. THANK YOU FOR BURNING is an American tale of dispossession, deceit, desire... and a dog!
Judd Williams' scorching satirical novel follows three Americans finding their future. JC's story is rooted in the death rattle of coal mining culture. He hops a train out West to find a better life. Julia leaves her idyllic NW Mt Baker cabin and rises to unexpected intensity of political activism. Ted's Blackfoot heritage takes him away from his beloved mountains of Glacier National Park and sets him on an explosive spirit quest. They connect in unexpected ways, each working against the failing grip of coal interests.
THANK YOU FOR BURNING pulls back the curtain on the men who protect the dirty power from burning coal and its ongoing damage to our children's future.
